Garden of One Thousand Buddhas
Just 20 miles north of Missoula you’ll find the Garden of 1000 Buddhas. A place of peace and beauty, the botanical garden is surrounded by mountains and some of the prettiest scenery in Montana.
The garden is a center for Tibetan Buddhist studies, retreats and traditional gatherings. Open to the public, the garden hosts more than 2000 visitors per year.
Buddhas and Stupas
There are 1000 buddhas and 1000 stupas perfectly positioned at the garden. With views of the mountains as the backdrop, is quite a dramatic setting.
Quiet is encouraged as you stroll through the garden.




Guided Tours and Hours
The garden is open year round. Visitors are welcome from 9 am to dusk, 8 am to dusk in summer months.
There is no fee to visit the garden, however, donations are appreciated.
Guided tours are available with advance notice.
If You Go
Parking for the garden is located at 34756 White Coyote Road, Arlee, MT 59821. Take I-90 to exit 96 which is Highway 93 N. Drive past the town of Arlee a couple of miles. Take a right onto White Coyote Road.
Pets are not allowed in the garden.
There is a wonderful gift shop located at the garden. Be sure to visit as the staff is helpful and like to answer questions.
If time permits, be sure to visit the Bison Range, just a few miles away.
Cameras, video recorders, and binoculars are welcomed for personal use.
