Christmas Holidays Vacation Cabins
Rock Creek is a magical place to spend the holidays. And our Golden Stone cabin is perfect for gatherings with family and friends.
For years guests have chosen this cabin as it is close to Missoula, Montana, yet not in the city. Here you’ll find quiet, amazing scenery, and often a coating of snow for Christmas and New Years.
Christmas Tree Provided
At Golden Stone, we provide a small, decorated artificial Christmas tree. Feel free to bring your favorite ornaments to add to the tree for your holiday celebration. We want our guests to feel that the cabin is their holiday home, not just a vacation rental.

Winter Maintained
The cabins are located on a county-maintained road. In winter, country trucks plow the road while our local plow guy plows the driveway and shovels the step. In the garage, we provide ice melt and a shovel.
How Much Snow Do We Get?
During the holidays, Thanksgiving through New Years, we can receive up to 18 inches of snow, however, more likely we will have less than a foot on the ground. Over the winter months snow can add up before the trend reverses in March. Follow us on social media to see current conditions.
Get Outdoors
While it is great to gather around the fireplace or in the spacious kitchen with your group, get outside and enjoy the Montana winter season. Check out our top 5 things to do outdoors during the holidays on Rock Creek.
Top 5 Things To Do Outside
- Go cross country skiing
- Slide down the hill to the fishing access in sleds
- Build a snowman
- Kindle a fire in the campfire pit
- Build a snow fort
